Sally is the lead 'hua dan' of the Kong Chow Wui Kuan of which she joined in 1977. She has been actively involved in cantonese opera for more than 20 years. Her first opera teacher was the distinguished Joanna Wong. Sally does not confine herself to a single role. She believes in acting out different roles with divergent characters including villainous and comical roles.

Since the 90s Sally has also been attempting script-writing. She has written several short opera scripts and adaptations with considerable success. She has also written a long one for her association's anniversary celebrations in 1993. In 1995 she went to Guangzhou to visit the well-known cantonese opera script-writer Chen Quan Heng and obtained invaluable advice on script-writing from him.
